Some Scriptural Goals For the New Year

I previously and sadly related that my former co writer on my other News on The Right blog viciously attacked me verbally in private at least. As my dead mother would say, she got “too big for her britches” There was nothing at all Christian in her attack and she let Satan have the glory attacking a friend and a brother in Christ.

But then there is a lot of that going around. Many in the blog world take the anonymity of the blog and attack people verbally with hate speech and put downs. Let us let this year be a kinder and gentler new year. It pays huge dividends and can and should be infectious.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. II Tim 3:16-17

The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; ride, and arrogancy and the evil way and the froward mouth do I hate Prov 8:13
Every one who is proud in heart is an abomination to God Proverbs 16:5

Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall, better it is to be of a humble spirit with the lowly than to divide the spoil with the proud. Proverbs 16:18-19

A high look and a proud heart and the plowing of the wicked is sin Proverbs 21:4
But he gives more grace, wherefore he says: God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble James 4:6

So when you are tempted to be hateful to someone, take your time and ask the age old question: What would Jesus do?

Blessings on all my readers and your families
